Diet of Sex

Diet of Sex

Synopsis

Diet of Sex is a strange Spanish movie that combines laughter and sensuality and emotional storytelling to look at the idea of intimacy and relationships. This is the story of a young woman named Agatha. She suffers from an affectionate metaphor for a real medical disorder called anhedonia, which prevents her from feeling any sense of pleasure, even while having sex. Then she meets Marc, a compassionate and supportive man who wants to assist her in feeling emotions again. As a couple, they set off on a most unconventional journey aiming to push Agatha’s emotional stumbling blocks using food to reawaken her core senses.

Awards & Wins

Although Diet of Sex was overlooked by more prominent awards, its brash and unapologetic depiction of topics such as sexual relationships and mental health has allowed it to gain traction at indie film festivals. As well as its understated but expressive narrative style, it is also admired for its accuracy.
