Themes and Style

‘Graveyard Shark’ covers confronting your own demons, the lines between reality and a myth, and the enigmas that people are captivated by. It wholly embraces it’s indie horror roots by having a ridiculous yet the creature design add to the genre it stems from the use of practical effects. The employing of practical effects such as the shark suit made by Anthony Clark Pearce and worn by Brandon Wheeler, who composed the music for the film, gives a feeling of nostalgia for old fashion monster films. The plot mixes suspenseful moments with cheesy jokes, thus providing a self-loathing horror from a B-rated movie that uses it’s b-grade features with pride.

Conclusions

Graveyard Shark is a fun and satirical film that explores the indie horror genre in a way that resonates with fans of B-movies and creature features. The stunning combination of practical effects, dark humor, and a unique take on the monster mythos is both refreshing and nostalgic at the same time. Despite not being suitable for all horror fans, those who appreciate indie filmmaking and inventive tellling will love Graveyard Shark and its unique take on low budget horror cinema.
