Indian 2
Indian 2 is a Tamil vigilante action film that India is set to release in July of 2024. It is directed by S. Shankar and co-written with B. Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu and Lakshmi Saravana Kumar. Like its prequel; the 1996 film ‘Indian’, it stars Kamal Hassan who plays Senapathy a former freedom fighter turned… vigilante. The film has officially been produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies.
Plot Overview
Senapathy returns to India after hearing about the armature videos of a system getting abused by different activist groups. His initial goal is to radicalize the cult of activism by cleansing the system by using any means necessary. The story is told on the backdrop of his life and considers the ideals of justice while rationalizing the extreme circumstances required to achieve it.

- Senapathy (Kamal Haasan) – The main protagonist, is portrayed as a senior freedom war veteran who is termed too radical for trying to fight something as ‘benign’ as corruption. From the time he starts to rip the political puppets apart, people witness change.
- Chithra Aravandran – She is his granddaughter who took it on herself to shift the perspective of her grandfather man Senapathy from traditionalist to radical enabling him to embrace the… unexpected!

Ethical Uncertainty – Senapathy’s deeds automatically interject questions of morality, is justice worth the sacrifice. After receiving abundant constructive criticism, Indian 2 still makes changes, now attempts to build the value of the old works under its iconic hero as it pursues the modern issues. Although it’s bold in story, the movie received average ratings because some people stressed it’s acting and more precisely fighting, while others said the film’s pacing and execution failed. Most audiences expect a thought inducing sequel, which may in the end give a mixed stance about the film’s message and influence.
