ThanksKilling 3

ThanksKilling 3 is a 2012 horror-comedy film by Jordan Downey where he takes on the role of the director. In it, he takes a self-reflective look at the flim demasind it a odd sequel to the b movie indie blockbuster ThanksKilling(2009). There seems to be a contradiction in the story regarding the title as ThanksKilling 2, which is said in the title, does not exist. ThanksKilling 3 skips over two for the sake of the absurd and mocks its title which hint at the premise being mocked.

The film embraces its lack of a budget with lackluster puppetry, camp, explosions of gore, sci-fi, and ahigh dos of meta humor marking the expansion of a singular nightmare. It is chaotic, crazy, absurd, and loud when put in simpler terms, but this is all done intentionally.

Plot Summary

In this absurd sequel, simply known as the unhinged one, the climax is centered around the last surviving copy of the movie so bad it doesn’t even deserve a mention, ThanksKilling 2. And along for the ride is the new character Turkie – a murderous, crass turkey out for blood.

To execute an elaborate scheme, Turkie must destroy the end all copy to make sure it is gone di forever. With his mere determination giving him free reign in a bountiful world of yelling puppets, zombies, demented creatures, and mutants. laced with an underwhelming story.

Pause for a second and give a warm welcome to the team of puppets made up of outcast unknowns. Character Thoughts

Turkie: The pop culture-laden turkey neck-deep in Thanksgiving themed murders, psychotic along with a hint of blood lust. Once deadlier, now theatrical.

Yomi: The heart of the story transforms from a sweet, lost puppet girl into a relentless quest to recover her missing brain—now, if you can believe this film has a heart.

Uncle Donnie: The zealot who wants to be the first to open a Thanksgiving-themed theme park as a tribute to his deceased wife. Along with Yomi, he gets caught in the aforementioned madness.

Nibla: An anti-Turkie resistance member and resistance member with a bad attitude.

Silly Rhonda Worm, Muff, and others: A motley crew of helpers or hindrances, each with their own faint grotesque feature assisting or impeding the quest.

Grounded Themes

Meta and Parody: Self satire is present as the film aims to roast its parent franchise, Hollywood, lousy sequels, and the absurdity of its existence.

Do It Yourself Filmmaking and Puppetry: The beautiful puppetry is mixed with B-grade Hollywood aesthetics and special effects giving the film its signature touch.

Monty Python: Embracing nonsense art, more than traditional horror Troma meets idiocy.

Satire Under Consumerism and Media: Believe it or not, concealed under the mayhem lurks underhanded punches targeting the crazed consumer culture, botched movie sequels, and waste television.

Conclusion

Not everyone will enjoy ThanksKilling 3. It is a cult classic and a visceral fantasy that revels in self-destructive narratives that go off the rails, meant for audiences that love poorly made films.

It’s not meant to evoke fear, nor is it artful in any sense. What it does have, however, is courage, a chaotic nature, and something oddly affection-inducing for lovers of puppeteer blood, whiny monologues that violate the boundaries of logic, and any systematic classification of art.
