The Dreamers
The Dreamers is a sad romantic story and an artistic film what was released in 2003 and directed by Bernardo Bertolucci that was based on Gilbert Adair’s book The Holy Innocents. This movie can be described as simply good because of its wonderful acting, cinematography and a truly unforgettable soundtrack. The movie depicts love, historical aspects which embrace the beauty of art and the pain that comes with growing up which is perfect for a person who loves coming of age movies. The story is set in Paris elementing the Paris student riots of 1968 with the arrival of an american student who finds love with three students, an unusual friendship which brought passion to the struggles of social change. The story progresses with Michael Pitt portraying Matthew, who comes across as a shy American foreign exchange student in France, forms a bond with Theo and Isabelle who happen to be siblings and are both very fascinating to him. During one of the numerous times he visits the cinémathèque classique as an attempt to revolt against the firing of the director, he ends up picking them up and gets enchanted by their appeal.
