The film focuses on Edward and Connie Sumner, who are living a suburban life in New York City with their little child, Charlie. When Connie meets Paul Martel, the attractive French bookseller, the moderate and composed marriage falls apart as she decides to have a chance affair with him. After Paul Martel gets out of the picture, Edward, who has concerns about Connie’s extra marital activities, ends up having a fight with her, and this leads to a horrifying set of events.

Diane Lane does a fantastic job of playing Connie, the movie’s antagonist, who goes against her marriage with Edward, played by Richard Gere. The movie portrays essence of ambition and fantasy, but there is also a chance to see how one-night stands can and do destroy seemingly healthy relationships. The storyline along with the character development is fully bound engaging moviegoers to the film from the very start and until the end.

Unfaithful posses morals that each human is shaped with, the movie deals with ideas of love and commitment and explores how emotions are violated when trust is betrayed. The film is an emotional portrayal of the consequences of our actions, Ruth and Robert attempted to fix their forever broken bond but not without fighting for the love they hoped to get back to.
