In 2071, Earth is devastated by air pollution, and humanity’s survival depends on the Black Knights, a group of not-so-ordinary couriers. Only 1% of Earth’s population has survived, and they are segregated into distinct social strata, except for the “Refugees” who live day by day, not being accepted into any caste.

A gritty and captivating Portuguese drama about young people in a community without prospects who can change their destinies by risking everything. A boat full of cocaine sinks in the waters of the Azores, and Eduardo sees a risky but intriguing opportunity to make money and fulfill his desperate dreams. 5. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

You’ve probably seen the Netflix ads for this series already, but if you haven’t given it a try yet, don’t hesitate. We know the second season of Bridgerton was a disappointment, and the first season was a bit overly sweet at times, but this spin-off gains more depth, much like what happened with James Bond films

Expect better and more chemistry between the new actors, romance, but also healthy doses of melancholy, introspection, and self-discovery. The series touches on many current themes, with loneliness being perhaps the most profound, and Queen Charlotte manages something almost impossible today: balancing sensitivities related to gender roles, skin color, etc., without losing sight of the viewer’s entertainment.

The third season of the romantic Bridgerton series comes as a prequel. Centered on Queen Charlotte’s rise to fame and power, this prologue to the Bridgerton universe tells the story of the marriage between the young queen and King George, which gave birth to a great love story and brought about a change in society. It led to the creation of high society, to which the characters of Bridgerton belong.

6. Beef (2023) – Must-Watch Series On Netflix

We enjoyed BEEF, especially the first three episodes where the script doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s an irreverent, well-acted series that hits the nail on the head and might resonate with you.

A comedy series about two dissatisfied people who find themselves in an escalating conflict that starts from a misunderstanding in traffic. Danny Cho (Steven Yeun – known from The Walking Dead and Burning) is a grumpy guy with no luck in business, and he clashes with Amy Lau (Ali Wong – a stand-up comedian you’ve seen on Netflix in the romantic comedy Always Be My Maybe), a successful entrepreneur. The escalating stakes of the conflict turn their lives and relationships upside down in this dark comedy series. Watch the charming Beef trailer here.

7. War Sailor (2023): Must-Watch Series On Netflix

must-watch series on Netflix.

Continuing the list of new Netflix series is War Sailor, which is worth watching, especially if you like dramatic war shows. Well-made and well-acted, it tells the story of Norwegian sailors during World War II, caught between the Allied and Nazi armies, without being protected by either side.

8. Thicker than Water (2023)

This is a charming French series about an Arab-origin journalist whose life becomes chaotic when she tries to defend her brother from authorities and unwittingly involves her family in the ruthless plan of a drug baron. This is one of the best must-watch series on Netflix

9. Obsession (2023) – Mini-series

Continuing the list of new Netflix series is one based on Josephine Hart’s 1991 novel “Damage,” akin to “Fifty Shades of Grey” of that period. It’s a thriller centered around the physically obsessive relationship between a father and his son’s fiancée. British actor Richard Armitage plays the father. If you’ve seen the film “Damage” with Jeremy Irons and Juliette Binoche, you know what we’re talking about regarding the plot  Armitage says at one point in the series: “Has anyone ever entered your life, giving you an overwhelming, indescribable feeling of physical obsession? If so, have you entered a relationship with that person, or have you chosen not to pursue it? If you’ve never felt this, I feel sorry for you. Because we should all experience it.” It is one of the best must-watch series on Netflix

Watch the Obsession trailer here. From the trailer, we expected a series below Netflix’s average, but it’s not that bad. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s worth watching in the evening after work. If you’ve seen it, what did you think?

10. Florida Man (2023) – Netflix mini-series

A disgraced police officer is forced to go to Florida for a dubious and dangerous mission that sends him on a search for a treasure. A crime and mystery mini-series that you can watch without rolling your eyes, especially thanks to the charming Edgar Ramirez, who saves many scenes :). You can watch the Florida Man trailer here.

11. Transatlantic (2023): Must-Watch Series On Netflix

transatlantic-netflix-series-what-we-know-so-far

A 7-part Netflix mini-series that, although expected to be above the average of Netflix series, is quite weak, with weak dialogues and equally weak acting, but can be watched if you want beautiful scenery, costumes, and landscapes.

A dramatic series with historical, period, and romantic accents, about two Americans and their allies. They organize a rescue operation in Marseille in 1940 to help artists, writers, and other refugees escape from Europe.

Transatlantic is based on a true story, evoked in Julie Orringer’s novel “The Flight Portfolio,” from which the mini-series was inspired. And Anna Winger, the co-creator of the series – an American screenwriter and producer, is known for the mini-series “Unorthodox,” which you probably saw on Netflix three years ago. Watch the Transatlantic trailer here.

The Diplomat is a political thriller series by Deborah Cahn, the writer, and executive producer of the series “Homeland.” Deborah signed a multi-year contract with Netflix, and the first “creation” to come out of this partnership is The Diplomat. Deborah Cahn is the showrunner of The Diplomat, meaning she has the final say when it comes to this series and is also involved in the script.

In the midst of an international crisis, a career diplomat (played by Keri Russell – known from Felicity and The Americans) must cope with her new post as an ambassador to the UK and her turbulent marriage to a successful politician. The Diplomat premieres on Netflix on 20 April 2023

How do you balance family life and raising kids with work and profession in today’s crazy and fast-paced world? You’ll find out by following the antics of four women from Toronto who have just become mothers. It’s a great comedy, and you’ll relate best to this series if you’re a new mom.  It’s perfect for evenings when you want some time for yourself after the baby has fallen asleep. It already has 6 seasons, and the 7th is coming to Netflix on April 26.

15. Firefly Lane (2021) – Part 2 of the second season from April 27, 2023

firefly lane seriale romantice netflix_

Firefly Lane, like the series Bridgerton, is based on a book, which greatly helps with the credibility of the characters and how much the situations they find themselves in will capture you. Childhood friends Tully (played by Katherine Heigl) and Kate are like sisters to each other. With completely different personalities, Tully is ambitious and extroverted but incapable of emotional attachment, while Kate is the good girl, always in Tully’s shadow, with a personality perfect for soothing wounds. This is one of the best must-watch series on Netflix

The series follows their friendship from the beginning until they are in their 40s, using a flashback technique. Firefly Lane is about life, compromises, friendship, love, and tells the stories of these two characters with so much empathy that it will definitely touch you. Not to mention that both actresses and the rest of the cast deliver impeccable performances. The second part of the second season premieres on Netflix on April 27.
