“Your Fault” Movie Review: A Mixed Sequel That Leans on Its Strengths

“Your Fault” Movie Review: A Mixed Sequel That Leans on Its Strengths

The much-awaited sequel of My Fault, namely Your Fault, is now live on Prime Video. The film continues right where the earlier film finished off, with more intense ups and downs in the relationship of Nick and Noah. But the question is, does it deliver? Let’s head straight to the details.

Plot Overview

The plot picks up right where ‘My Fault’ left off. Nick and Noah are in love but have to deal with family problems as they grow their relationship. Things get more interesting with the addition of two new characters, Michael Brar and Sophia, who bring in more conflict and suspense. The film has traces of gangster action and racing scenes spread throughout the second half which gives a further interesting dimension to the film.

Not to say that the structure of the plot is particularly innovative, but it will be enough for the followers of the first installment.

Strengths of the Film

  1. Production Quality
The sequel boasts significantly improved production values. From visually stunning party scenes to intense racing sequences, the cinematography and choreography stand out. The use of dynamic camera angles enhances the immersive experience, particularly in the film’s action-packed moments.
  2. Entertainment Factor
Your Fault leans heavily on its “thrill factor,” including sensual and dramatic scenes that will appeal to a particular audience. The film ensures there’s enough spice to keep viewers intrigued, with moments designed to surprise and excite.
  3. Character Appeal
The lead characters, especially the female roles, are presented with charisma, and their on-screen presence adds to the movie’s charm.

Weaknesses of the Film

  1. Weak Storyline
Like its predecessor, Your Fault suffers from a lack of depth in its story. The narrative relies more on style and visual appeal than substance, which may disappoint those looking for a more compelling plot.
  2. Repetitive Elements
Some scenes feel formulaic and overly focused on creating viral-worthy moments rather than advancing the storyline. This approach risks alienating viewers seeking originality.
  3. Open-Ended Conclusion
The movie ends without resolving the central conflict, clearly setting up for a third installment. While this builds anticipation, it might leave some viewers dissatisfied.

Who Should Watch It?

There’s a high chance that if you liked My Fault, then you would also consider Your Fault an adequate sequel. Lovers of beautiful aesthetics and of heart-wrenching scenes will be pleased with what the film has to offer. Nevertheless, I suggest you stay away from this project since its primary aspiration is neither strong in its narrative nor extensive in its storytelling.

Final Thoughts

Your Fault has become a poor average sequel that excels in its production value but lacks in providing a good storyline. It lacks a good plot and seems more as just great to look at than anything else. There is an abundance of “wow” moments which are sprinkled throughout the film avoiding the over use of them. This is an enjoyable watch for those who enjoyed the first part but for everyone else it is not a must watch.
