Bollywood’s Most cherished Tiger Shroff, a name which stood amongst the greatest for his outstanding action star potential, have had rough phase in his career. Due to their recent box office duds, the actor has been placed in a difficult position where many of his well known projects have been dropped as well. Let’s take a look at five shattering films of Tiger Shroff which were pulled off instead and what were the reasons for their undoing.
1. Remo
Synopsis:
This project was envisioned as a made-for–India version of a 1982 American classic motion picture Remo. However, directed by Rohit Dhawan and produced by Siddharth Anand, it started out as a high action drama with Tiger in the cast as an ex-soldier. In line with the production value of this film estimated at 150 crores, the ambitious project managed to rope in actress Janhvi Kapoor to play the female lead.
Reason for Cancellation:
The excitement that preceded the release of the film is now but a memory, since Ganapath: Part 1 and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan came out to a dud performance from Tiger. Their box office records put in question the practicality of a Tiger-centric commercial behemoth.
2. Mission Eagle
Synopsis:
Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani were due to star in Mission Eagle which was supposedly shot in London, Budapest, and Thailand. A movie which was rumored to be directed by Jagannath Shakti and produced by Pooja Entertainment, was filmed in various international locations. A film set to be an action thriller, had also completed portions of filming across various locations.
Reason for Cancellation:
Ganapath did not do great business which affected Mission Eagle. As there were already a lot of investments which had been made, the production team so as to avoid more losses decided to abandon the project.
3. Screw Dheela
Synopsis:
Not only did it star Tiger in a daring role, but it also had an enthralling storyline which made it worth watching. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, this film made Tiger portray a school teacher with love for action.
The teaser, released in 2022, exhibited Tiger’s martial arts and provided a sneak peek of what’s to come, and the information was sufficient.
Reason for Cancellation:
The project’s standstill ensueddue to differences in finance expectations. Tiger is stated to have asked for a whopping amount of ₹30 crores which was beyond the producers’ fund. Even after the efforts made in the later periods to extend the project, the bane was the dropping of the project made worse by box-office prediction dullness of the post pandemic.
4. Ganapath: Part 2 – Rise of the Hero
Synopsis:
As per the narrative of the first part of the movie Ganapath, its continuation was supposed to depict the final face-off between the leading character Guddu against his AI clone called Dalin. The film was to provide an interesting fusion of science fiction with action.
Reason for Cancellation:
The sequel’s cancellation was due to the the dismal box office performance of Ganapath: Part 1 which grossed ₹ 13.38 crores worldwide while its production cost was ₹150 crores. The franchise was not pursued further even though they had minimal shooting and concept designs.
5. Untitled Action-Dance Film with Ajay Devgn
Synopsis:
Remo D’Souza directed this film, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The purpose of the movie was to mesh Tiger’s exuberant dancing skills with Ajay Devgn’s powerful and action filled character. It was suppose to be a different kind of movie.
Reason for Cancellation:
The project was delayed multiple times because, as reported, Tiger was reluctant to do a two-hero project in his early years. Tiger, on the other hand, has explained that the film in question never went into production due to the scheduling problems.
What’s Next for Tiger Shroff?
Even with such limitations in his career, Tiger Shroff is still an asset who has a lot to offer. Potential for himself that goes unchecked . So Tiger fans are excited to watch films like Singham Again with Tiger and Ajay Devgn. Winning a single box office hit can help him revive his career and grab new chances.
